ELKHART - Henry Lee Davis (Blue Boy), 69, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Elkhart Hospice House after a brief illness.
Henry was born on May 25, 1949 in Greenwood, MS to the late Lenzy Davis and Dessie Mae (Simpson) Davis. He is survived by his loving companion of over 40 years, Cynthia Barnes, their son Ramaro Barnes, son Carlos Davis, daughter Darla (Cliff) Hildreth; several grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and his sister Ernestine Walker.
He was preceded in death by a sister Doretha Spively and brother JC Davis (Sonny Cool).
Henry worked for U.S. Postal Service and Ace Cab Co. as a cabbie for many years, He was an avid sports fan, especially rooting for the New England Patriots. He attended Agape MBC. He served in the U.S. Army, Alaska Command known as USARAL, from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1971.
Funeral services for Henry will be Noon Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Agape Missionary Baptist Church, 248 W. Wolf Ave., Elkhart, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Dannell Brown will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Funeral Honor Guard and DAV #19. Cremation will follow the service, with burial at the veterans section at Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date.
