Harold W. Pletcher, 79, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 3, 2019 at his home. He was born April 17, 1940 in Wakarusa to the late Paul D. and Bessie (Keil) Pletcher. He married Joan J. Bollenbacher on August 1, 1975 and she died April 26, 2017 after 41 years of marriage.
Harold is survived by a son, David Pletcher, step-daughter, Lynn Boss, 3 step-grandchildren, Tiffany (Adam) Naval, Jeni (Greg) Helselbarth, Zak (Kat) Bollenbacher; 2 step-great grandchildren, Avery and Aiden Naval; four brothers, Carl (Jean) Pletcher, John (Diana) Pletcher, Steve (Crina) Pletcher; Paul David (Donna) Pletcher; 2 sisters, Mary Lou (Charles) Hess and Rae Jean (Lynn) Crothers.
Harold was preceded in death by step-son Jack D. Bollenbacher, two sisters, Susan Webster, Joan Cox and a brother Charles E. Pletcher.
For over 40 years, Harold and Joan ran the Verde Greenhouses on State Line Road in Elkhart. He enjoyed building and flying RC Airplanes, gardening and landscaping.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 pm. Friday, June 7, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Per his wishes, cremation was chosen.
