I was hired on the Elkhart County sheriff department in 1987. Essie retired in the year before but her legacy I had heard about upon my hiring. She definitely left an impact on the remaining employees, inmates and professional guests. I honor her service. May the Lord comfort you during this time of grieving. Blessings.
