Douglas D. “Doug” Lewandowski, 67, of Elkhart passed away at his residence on October 2, 2019. He was born on July 31, 1952 in South Bend, IN to the late Clem M. and Pauline M. (Pierport) Lewandowski Sr.
He is survived by his brother, Clem Lewandowski Jr.; Patricia Kron and Rita Lolmaugh; stepbrothers, Craig A. and Kristopher Craft; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Lewandowski.
Doug served proudly in both the United States Navy and the Marine Corps. To anyone that knew him, Doug was a genius when it came to working with numbers. His excellent number crunching skills helped him “Win It All” when he appeared on the Price Is Right in 1984. Doug enjoyed watching baseball which included his favorite teams the Chicago Cubs and White Sox. Doug was always truthful and never hesitated to tell anyone how he felt things should be done. That was what made his personality so charming, especially to his family. He will missed greatly by them all.
In accordance with Doug’s wishes, cremation will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 3-4 p.m. with military honors to take place at 4:00 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
