Ms. Crinn M. “Michelle” Vivaldo, 46, of Elkhart, was found passed away at the home of a family member on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019 at 6:11 am following complications with diabetes and a lengthy battle with an opioid addiction.
She was born in Elkhart on July 28, 1973 to the late Roger Welch and Doris Stevenson, who survives her, as well as her spouse, Nolberto Ontiveros.
Also surviving are her children Reyna and Briana Ontiveros; brothers Jerry and Steve Ragsdale, and a host of loving extended family including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt and uncles Diane (Micky) Clair and Don Hicks.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no immediate services have been scheduled. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Michelle will be remembered as a beautiful homemaker and “mommy”. She was the center of the world for her two daughters, and she loved them to the moon and back. She also lived life to the fullest and looked forward to what each day had to offer. She was always happy and loved to joke with her friends. However, it is important to note that even though Michelle’s addiction and resulting depression robbed her and her family of these wonderful qualities she had, they will still live on in the memories of those closest to her. Depression and opioid addiction are terrible afflictions, and it would have been Michelle’s wish for others to use her passing as a warning of the dangers that accompany addiction, and as an inspiration to aspire to find the strength to attempt recovery. She also leaves behind her two beloved cats, Callie and Mama Kitty.
On-line condolences can reach the family at the funeral home’s website and memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
