BRISTOL: Cliff C. Kaunda, 49, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Center for Hospice Care after a courageous battle with cancer. Cliff was born on February 9, 1970 in Mzuzu, Malawi to Immanuel Kaunda and Diana (Nkosi) Kaunda.
Surviving is his father Immanuel Kaunda, stepmother Elizabeth Kaunda, seven siblings, Veronica Kambwiri, Michael Mathokwane, Frieda Chenda, Abednico Kaunda, Joseph Kaunda, Alyda Kaunda and Penjani Kaunda; close friends and caregivers, Tom and Nanci Sutula along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
His mother Diana Kaunda, preceded him in death.
Cliff was known as BuBu to his family and friends He was a noted musician, producer and lead singer for the band Boyz Lazzy in his home country of Malawi. Cliff was very creative, funny and loved to tell stories. He attended St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol, St. John the Evangelist, Goshen and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart. He loved and was loved, and now is at rest with his God.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon (12 o’clock) Thursday, April 25, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with visitation 1 hour prior. Rev. Bob VanKempen will celebrate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol. Arrangements for Cliff are under the care of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
