Clacy E. Eads, 95, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Golden Living Center. He was born on August 26, 1923 in Wayne County, MO to the late John and Effie (Borders) Eads.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Shelly (Pete) Watts of Elkhart; two grandchildren, Starr and Nichole Watts; 9 great grandchildren; two step daughters, Deb (Dave) Yost of Elkhart and Penny Smith; step son, Melvin Williams; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, granddaughter, Brandy Hensley, and two infant grandsons, Zen and Conner Rogers.
In accordance with Clacy’s wishes, cremation will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elkhart. A private burial is to take place at Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Cancer Resources for Elkhart County, 23971 U.S. Highway 33, Elkhart, IN 46517.
Clacy honorably served in the United States Army during World War II and worked at Honey RV until he retired on September 26, 1986. He loved to stay busy and filled his time by remaining active. He enjoyed golfing, going to auctions, and loved to browse yard sales whenever he could. Clacy will be dearly missed by his loving family.
