ELKHART — Carolyn Sue Dimos, 74, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 4, at her home.
She was born, in Constantine, Mich., Sept. 10, 1942, to the late Robert and Jeanette (Bojanich) Holtzinger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey L. Dimos; brothers Jim Gentzhorn and Paul Holtzinger; and sister, Beverly Odell.
Surviving are her daughter, Lauri (John) Patterson of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Zachary Patterson of Indianapolis, Joslyn Patterson of New Palestine and Jazmin Razor (Craig Cochran) of Miamisburg, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Layna Patterson, Alexis Jones and Camden Cochran; and sister Donna (George) Briesacker of Sopchoppy, Fla.
Carolyn retired from the county as an administrative assistant for Judge James Rieckhoff.
She was formerly employed at Midwest Commerce Bank in the trust department.
She was a 1960 graduate of Elkhart High School and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
She also did volunteer work at St. Vincent dePaul Society Food Pantry and was a Red Coat at Elkhart General Hospital.
Carolyn enjoyed yard work and blowing snow and listening to Dean Martin endlessly.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart with a vigil service at 4 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St., Elkhart, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior Friday, Feb. 10. The Rev. Jason Freiburger will officiate.
Burial will follow in Adamsville Cemetery, Edwardsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or St. Vincent dePaul Society Food Pantry, 1108 S. Main St. Elkhart, IN 46516.
