Bonnie Lucille (Ormsby) Story

Bonnie Lucille (Ormsby) Story, 87, of Elkhart, passed into heaven Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Greenleaf Health Campus.

She was born on November 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Ivan and Lucille (Harshener) Ormsby in Zanesville, Indiana.

On January 1, 1949 she married the love of her life, William A. “Bill” Story, who preceded her in death on September 13, 2012. In addition to Bill, a daughter Connie Caligiuri, two brothers, four sisters, son-in-law Joseph Rigley and two infant grandchildren, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, daughter Brenda Rigley of Elkhart, son Kenneth A. (Brenda) Story, and son-in-law Steven Caligiuri of Bristol, twin daughters, Ronda (David) Griner of Marcellus, Mich. and Fondra (Derek) Webb of Elkhart; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; a brother “Duff” (Jan) Ormsby of Huntington, Ind., sister-in-law Carolyn Ormsby of Powder Springs, Ga., and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was a homemaker, wife, and mom or grandma to everyone whoever met her. She enjoyed crocheting and cross word puzzles. Every grandchild has a blanket crocheted by Grandma.

A celebration of her life will be held from 4-7 pm, Friday, May 31, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. A short prayer service at 7:00 pm by Pastor Tim Fisher will conclude the evening. In honoring her wishes, cremation will follow, with burial at a later date at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol, IN.
