ELKHART — Betty L. Lantz, 84, of Elkhart, passed away of natural causes at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018.
She was born in Elkhart on March 24, 1934, to the late Wilbur and Margaret (Anderson) Ruffner, and later married Donald “Bob” Lantz, who passed in 1990.
Surviving are her brother, Junior Ruffner; niece Deborah Smith; sister-in-law Mary Lou (Ronald) Martin; and her son, Rick.
In accordance with her wishes, graveside services will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Goshen at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27.
Billings Funeral home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Betty worked in local retail for many years, including businesses such as J.C. Penney’s, Kresge’s Five, and Dime store, the Mid-City News and the Hotel Elkhart.
She was an accomplished artist and loved cats.
Memorial donations may go to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
