Arlene Kurtz Life Story
ELKHART — Arlene L. Kurtz, 78, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart following a brief illness.
She was born June 1, 1940, in Chicago, to the late Ben and Laverne (Cox) Leslie.
Surviving are children James, Keith (Rita) Kurtz, Denise (Ron Allard); siblings Brian and Pat Leslie and Dianne (Darl) Sult; sister-in-law Mildred Leslie; former spouse Jerry Joe Kurtz Sr.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brother Bill, sister Sharon, two infant sons, son Jerry Joe Kurtz Jr. and a great-granddaughter.
Arlene was a homemaker but also worked many years in health care as a nurse’s aide.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to classic country music.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation is to take place under the direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart and a family gathering will be at a later date.
