Mary Ann Mackey
ELKHART -- Mary Ann Mackey, 79, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at 8:05 p.m. in Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart. Mary Ann was born on April 25, 1930, in Monroe, Mich., to the late Frederick G. and Mary G. (Fitzpatrick) Bennett. As the former Mary Ann Bennett, she married Richard D. Mackey on May 16, 1953, in Monroe. He survives, as well as her son, Daniel Mackey of Hartsell, Ala.; four daughters, Carol Hochstetler and her husband Kim of Bremen, Marsha Mackey of Rosebush, Mich., Patty Jo Harvey and her husband Barry of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kathleen Styborski and her husband Randy of Spokane, Wash. Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive as well. Please join with her family and friends as they gather to celebrate her life on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Friends also may call for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church at 411 W. Vistula St., Bristol, IN 46507. The Rev. Robert VanKempen will officiate. A parish rosary will conclude Friday's visitation at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. At her request , cremation will occur following the Mass on Saturday. Mrs. Mackey was a homemaker and member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Purdue Extension Club and the Funtimers. She also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, music and the theatre. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be directed to either Knights of Columbus Council 1043 Scholarship Fund, 112 E. Lexington Ave., Elkhart, IN 46516 or Ross School of Business Student Scholarship, 3003 S. State St., Suite 8000, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.
