Robert J. Lloyd

ELKHART — Robert J. Lloyd, 89, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. 

He was born, in Elkhart, Sept. 1, 1927, to the late Robert and Ura (Wilkinson) Lloyd and later married Mary Kyler in 1960. She died in 2009.

Surviving are children Robert Lloyd and Beth (Ron) Laughman; brother David (Mary Ann) Lloyd; sisters Peggy Bell and Joan Halstead; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 

Grandchildren Felicia M. Reason, Felicia N. Durie and Logan Laughman preceded Robert in death.

Pastor Mike Butler of Elkhart’s Hillcrest United Methodist Church will be officiating the memorial service for Robert at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. 

Burial will follow Friday, May 26, in Oak Grove Cemetery in Columbia City. 

Robert was the head of the science department for the Elkhart Community School system for many years.
