RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Marvin J. Rodwick, 84, of Ridgewood and formerly of Elkhart, Ind., died peacefully of natural causes June 14, 2013.

Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at St. Vincent Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard and the Rev. Terri L. Bays officiating.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.




March 3, 1929 - June 14, 2013

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Marvin J. Rodwick of Ridgewood, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., died peacefully of natural causes Friday, June 14, 2013. He was 84 years old.

Mr. Rodwick was born in Elkhart to the late Marcus and Mildred Rodwick.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha J. Rodwick; his children, Elizabeth Rodwick, Melissa Vecchiarelli, Sarah Conte and Matthew J. Rodwick; and six grandchildren. A sister, Ramona Mills of Elkhart, and a brother, John Rodwick of Union, Mich., also survive him.

Mr. Rodwick was a graduate of Indiana University, where he was affiliated with Phi Kappa Psi. He was also a member of the BPO Elks. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army, as well as the Reserves.

Mr. Rodwick built his career with New York Central RR, Penn Central RR and Consolidated Rail Corp. for more than 40 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Marvin J. Rodwick to either Ridgewood Elks Lodge 1455, 111 N. Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450, or Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G. Street, Ste. 700, Washington, D.C. 20005. Please note in memo portion of check “Marvin J. Rodwick.”

Graveside services to honor his life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at St. Vincent Cemetery, where the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard will render military honors. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home.
