Darrell L. Frost

ELKHART — Darrell L. Frost, 69, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at his home.

Darrell was born on July 11, 1947 in Parke County, Indiana to the late Richard J. and Eleanor (Vance) Frost.

He married the former Star Raider on Nov. 19, 1968. Star passed away October 3, 1993.

Darrell is survived by brothers Wm. J. “Bill” (LeAnn) Frost of Elkhart and Jerry (Pam) Frost of Louisville, Kentucky; nephew and caregivers to Darrell for many years Donald (Ashley) Frost, and their children who also looked after him. Holly, Laney, Dalton and Karley; also many nephews, nieces, and extended family survive him as well.

In addition to his wife, Star, and his parents, two brothers David L. “Old Man” Frost and Leon Frost preceded him in death.

Darrell worked for Norfolk & Southern Railroad and retired from Conrail after 32 years of service when he became disabled at the age of 57.

He enjoyed stock car racing and helped with “Team Frost”. He was an avid dog lover and will be missed by his two loyal companions, Butch and Holly.

Darrell was quite the jokester and he was always pestering his family and friends and causing “fun trouble” for everyone.

Services celebrating Darrell’s life will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Family friend Jo B. Johnston will officiate.

Burial with graveside services will follow at Olive West Cemetery.
