B. Scott Pontius

OSCEOLA — B. Scott Pontius, 57, of Osceola, passed away Friday morning, June 16, 2017, at his residence after an unexpected illness.

He was born on May 8, 1960, in Elkhart to Donald E. and Janet M. (Grant) Pontius Jr.

Surviving is a daughter, Sara M. Pontius and Michael Maggert; and his son, Kevin S. Pontius all of Mishawaka; and his girlfriend Suzanne Wise of South Bend.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Grant E. Pontius.

Scott worked in electrical sales for American Electronic Components Inc. for many years.

He was a Penn High School graduate.

Scott had a very creative spirit. He was an actor, enjoyed the theatre and was a member of the Osceola Players. He had a wealth of musical knowledge and interest in all kinds of music. He enjoyed playing softball.

But above all, he was a great dad and friend.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at Billings Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 21. A short remembrance service will conclude the evening at 8 p.m.

Per his wishes, cremation will follow.

The family kindly request memorials in Scott’s name to any Down Syndrome research foundation.
